Addiction
to Zydone and Effective Treatment
Sold under the common brand name of Allay4 Anexsia 5/5004
Anexsia, Zydone is made of Hydrocodone,
an effective antitussive (anti-cough) agent, and Acetaminophen,
a less powerful pain reliever that enhances the effects
of Hydrocodone.
As an opiate, Zydone is an effective painkiller
for mild to moderate pain control and often prescribed for
moderate to severe pain. Hydrocodone fastens to the pain
receptors in the brain thereby reducing the sensation of
pain while Acetaminophen halts the production of prostaglandin
which otherwise cause pain.
Zydone is obtainable in tablet, capsule,
and liquid form and is taken every 4-6 hours by mouth. Because
human beings have an inclination to getting addicted to
hydrocodone, care must be taken to follow the doctor's instructions
when taking Zydone. Users should not indulge in or take
excess doses, or take it more frequently, or take it for
longer than the doctor has prescribed.
Before taking this medication, it is advisable to let the
doctor know if he/she has kidney disease; liver disease;
asthma; urinary retention; an enlarged prostate; hypothyroidism;
seizures epilepsy; gallbladder disease; a head injury; or
Addison's disease.
Excess in take of Zydone can result in allergic reaction
(difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling
of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives); slow, weak breathing;
seizures; cold, clammy skin; severe weakness or dizziness;
unconsciousness; yellowing of the skin or eyes; or unusual
fatigue, bleeding, or bruising and leading to severe side
effects.
Zydone affects can leave the body weak and the failing
immune system may result in serious health problems and
death at times. However, Zydone addiction is a treatable
disorder, and can be cured by undergoing medications, and
other treatment therapies.
Treatment
Treatment medications:
Treatment medications are yet another effective method that
provides help to restrain the withdrawal syndrome and drug
craving by blocking the effects of drugs. Besides, studies
show that treatment for Opiod addiction-using methadone
at a satisfactory dosage level combined with behavioral
therapy reduces death rates and many health problems associated
with Hydrocodone and Zydone abuse.
Behavioral Therapy:
Behavioral therapeutic activities include counseling, psychotherapy,
support groups, or family therapy. These help in long-term
success as medical therapy alone cannot help abusers, as
efficient treatment of such drug addiction requires plenty
of attention. Therefore, abusers are made to undergo medical
treatment combined with concurrent behavioral therapies
and provision for faster and long-term recovery.
Outpatient treatment:
People afflicted with high usage of such drug like opiates
are suggested for outpatient drug free treatment, which
includes a wide variety of programs of which most of the
programs involve individual or group counseling.
