Often useful alone or as an add-on in the treatment of the Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (petit mal variant), akinetic and myoclonic seizures, the ‘k’ shaped benzodiazepine class of drug is available as scored tablets containing 0.5 mg, 1 mg or 2 mg clonazepam/Roche, along with lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and corn starch, with the following dye systems: 0.5 mg-FD&C Yellow No. 6; 1 mg-FD&C Blue No. 1 and FD&C Blue No. 2.

One may experience withdrawal symptoms--such as convulsions, hallucinations, tremor, and abdominal and muscle cramps--if they stop using this drug abruptly or discontinue or change their dose.

Possible side effects include behavior, agitation, anxiety, excitability, hostility, irritability, nervousness, nightmares, sleep disturbances, and vivid dreams. To avoid such circumstances, it is wise to undergo medical treatment.
